About Jungle
Jungle was drawn over the sunny summer days of 2023. Painted on watercolours.
I’m a Spaniard living in the Netherlands. The summers are the moments where I’m most reminded of home. The warmth, the almost 35 degrees, the long days, the extensive amounts of sun.
Jungle is my most fun piece, because during summer you allow yourself to do things you wouldn’t do in another season of the year. You are slightly more fearless.
Swim in the canal multiple times, eat ice cream at different moments of the day, raves at the park, tanning under the blue skies, kisses under the sunset. There is just so much we can do.
You stand by yourself in front of this fluffy and flowery jungle. You want to go in. You are ready to navigate situations that make you blue, feelings that make you red, times that make you purple.
It’s a jungle of moments and opportunities. A reminder that we are still young inside.
This piece has a tender spot in my heart. It has developed and adapted through the years. At the time, I was learning to digitalize my paintings and this one because the amount of details took particularly long. But once it was done I could transform it and expand it.
Thanks to Jungle I did my first commission for a friend, where I had to think bigger and differently to put it in someone else’s home. Originally painted with a grey background, later changed to yellow for the commission job. Now available in different colours on our website.
